It’s long been said that Culture eats strategy for breakfast. The big tech titans, such as the “FAANG” set of Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Google, have all developed and inherited a specific culture, and it’s a culture of “deliver at all costs”. What we are starting to see is the downsides of those cultures. OKR’s, the measurement of work, the development of business at all costs are all the hallmarks of the way that the VC funded silicon valley approach to business works.
